Single parents
Becoming a parent on your own, with a great deal of help.
Single men and women build families through surrogacy every year. The process is the same as for a couple, with a few additional things to plan. We will help you think each one through.

What to plan
The things single parents think about first.
Donors
Single men work with an egg donor; single women may use their own eggs or a donor's, with donor sperm. Your clinic will advise you on embryo creation, and we will help you with timing.
Where you can match
A few states limit enforceable surrogacy agreements to married intended parents. We match single parents with surrogates in states where your parentage is straightforward.
A guardian
Your agreement names a guardian for your child if something were to happen to you during the journey. Choose someone early, and talk with them about it.
Support at the birth
Many single parents bring a family member or friend to the hospital and for the first weeks at home. We include your support person in the hospital plan.
Leave from work
Parental leave laws and employer policies usually apply to surrogacy. Check yours early; some require notice months in advance.
The budget
Costs are the same as for a couple. Plan for your leave and early childcare costs alongside the journey itself.
