Angel Heart Surrogacy

The journey

What happens, in what order, and how long it usually takes.

A typical Angel Heart Surrogacy journey takes 15 to 20 months from your first consultation to bringing your baby home. The timings below are typical, not promised. Where something commonly adds time, we say so.

  1. 01

    Weeks 1–3

    Consultation

A private video call with a Angel Heart Surrogacy director. We talk about your family, your fertility history, your embryos, your budget and your timeline, and answer every question you bring. If we are not the right fit, we will tell you, and suggest who might be.

  2. 02

    Weeks 2–6

Signing with Angel Heart Surrogacy and building your profile

You sign our services agreement and pay the program retainer. You complete a detailed intake about your hopes for the journey, and we write your parent profile with you: the letter your future surrogate will read first.

    • Services agreement and retainer
    • Intake questionnaire
    • Parent profile and photographs
    • Introduction to attorneys and escrow
  3. 03

    Months 1–4

    Matching

We present surrogates whose screening is already complete and whose preferences align with yours. You read her profile, she reads yours, and if both of you want to meet, we host a video introduction. A match is confirmed only when you both say yes.

If we have not presented a match within 9 months of signing, you may leave and we refund your retainer, less a small amount for work already done.

  4. 04

    Months 3–5

    Medical clearance

Your fertility clinic examines your surrogate: a uterine evaluation, bloodwork, infectious disease and drug screening. We arrange her travel and reimburse it. In the rare case she is not cleared, we re-match you at no additional agency fee.

    • Clinic records review
    • Uterine evaluation
    • Bloodwork and infectious disease screening
    • Nicotine and drug screening
  5. 05

    Months 3–6

Psychological evaluation, contracts, escrow and insurance

A licensed mental health professional evaluates your surrogate and meets with her partner, if she has one, and then with all of you together. In parallel, two independent attorneys negotiate the gestational carrier agreement: yours, and hers. You pay for both.

Before any medication begins, three things are in place: the signed agreement, a funded escrow account, and confirmed health insurance for the pregnancy.

    • Joint counseling session
    • Gestational carrier agreement
    • Escrow account opened and funded
    • Insurance review, or a dedicated policy
    • Life insurance for your surrogate
    • Legal clearance letter to your clinic
  6. 06

    Months 5–7

    Embryo transfer

Your surrogate begins medications about three to four weeks before transfer. The transfer itself is brief and painless. A blood pregnancy test follows about nine to ten days later, and an ultrasound two to three weeks after that confirms a heartbeat. Not every transfer succeeds on the first attempt; your contract sets out how further transfers are handled.

  7. 07

    Months 7–15

    Pregnancy

After the heartbeat is confirmed, your surrogate’s base compensation begins, paid monthly from escrow. Around eight to ten weeks, she graduates from the fertility clinic to her own obstetrician. Your coordinator keeps both of you informed after every appointment, and you agree in advance how you will share scans, milestones and news.

  8. 08

    Third trimester

    Parentage order and birth plan

Your attorney files for a parentage order, before the birth wherever the state allows it, so that you are the legal parents from the moment your baby is born. We agree a hospital plan with you, your surrogate and the hospital: who is in the room, who holds the baby first, and where each of you stays afterwards.

  9. 09

    Birth and the weeks after

    Birth, documents and going home

You are at the hospital. Your baby’s birth certificate names you as parents. We help with your baby’s insurance enrollment and first documents, and stay in touch with your surrogate through her recovery. Escrow is reconciled and any unused funds are returned to you.
